Towards people
Direct, respectful collaboration and clear agreements. People working in production, development and logistics are not invisible cost items.
FAIRNESS AT TWIOO SPORTS
We carry out our development work in Germany and manufacture our products in collaboration with selected European partners. For us, fairness means working directly with our partners, transparent processes, reasonable prices, and claims that still hold true even when you look more closely.
01 · WHAT FAIRNESS MEANS TO US
For us, fairness is not just a marketing buzzword used to gloss over every problem. It must work in everyday life between people, products, customers and the company.
Direct, respectful collaboration and clear agreements. People working in production, development and logistics are not invisible cost items.
High-quality materials, well-thought-out designs and a finish that’s suited to real-world use. Not a cheap solution that only looks good in the first photo.
Clear information on materials, origin, availability and limitations. We do not promise more than a sports product can realistically deliver.
Fairness requires economic prudence. Prices must cover labour, materials, development and risk, so that quality and jobs do not depend on dumping.
02 · THE JOURNEY OF A PRODUCT
Not every stage of the process takes place in the same location. What is crucial is that the pathways remain traceable and that the partners involved do not remain anonymous.
High-performance fabrics, mainly from specialist manufacturers in Italy. Where possible, we source supplementary components from European partners.
Models, features, colour combinations and product specifications are developed and coordinated at TWIOO SPORTS in Germany.
Production takes place in Germany and at selected European workshops. We work directly with the businesses involved.
Logos, names, prints and other finishes are produced at TWIOO SPORTS and in collaboration with specialist partners in Germany and across Europe.
Final checks, order fulfilment and dispatch are carried out at TWIOO SPORTS in Germany.
03 · PARTNERSHIP RATHER THAN ANONYMITY
At TWIOO SPORTS, small and medium-sized production runs are not produced by some invisible global manufacturing machine. We work with businesses and people whom we know and with whom we can discuss requirements directly.
That doesn’t mean that every partnership is automatically perfect. Prices, quality, deadlines and working conditions need to be reassessed on a regular basis. Fairness isn’t something you simply declare once and then tick off the list.
04 · INGREDIENTS AND ORIGIN
Supply chains are constantly changing. That is why this list is not a static self-description set in stone, but rather reflects the current status of our key components.
Changes to suppliers, materials or production sites will be updated on this page as soon as they are relevant to the classification of our products.
05 · QUALITY WITHOUT PROMISES OF ETERNITY
TWIOO products are stretched, washed, exposed to moisture and heat, and worn during sports where friction and movement are part of everyday life. High-quality materials and workmanship enhance comfort and durability. However, they do not make a product indestructible.
Areas that are particularly stretched, points of friction and areas subject to significant pressure may show signs of wear and tear over time. How quickly this happens depends on the model, the fit, the strain placed on the garment, how it is cared for and how often it is worn.
High-quality materials, meticulous craftsmanship, clear care instructions and a fair resolution should anything actually go wrong.
What we do not promise:That every meticulously designed sports item remains as good as new, no matter what it is put through.
06 · FAIRNESS WORKS BOTH WAYS
Payment providers are convenient, but they charge merchants fees on almost every order. For a small business, this money isn’t spent on materials, development, wages or new products.
We continue to offer PayPal because customers have different needs. At the same time, we are delighted to welcome any customer who pays by bank transfer or real-time transfer, provided that this can be done free of charge under their own banking arrangements.
The choice, of course, remains with the customer. For us, fairness means providing information, not exerting pressure. However, anyone who uses bank transfer is directly supporting our work.
07 · PRODUCTION BASED ON ACTUAL DEMAND
We produce in small and medium quantities and replenish stock as and when the need arises. This reduces unnecessary stock levels without promising a level of availability that nobody can guarantee.
We plan our production more closely in line with actual demand than large, anonymous mass-production operations.
Patterns and design concepts are further developed, rather than being completely discarded each season.
Teams and customers can often add to existing designs. However, fabrics and colours may be discontinued.
We distinguish between a long-term design concept and the indefinite lifespan of an individual worn item.
08 · PACKAGING AND TRANSPORT
Products are transported in bulk as part of our production and logistics processes. We avoid using additional individual plastic packaging where it does not provide adequate protection.
When it comes to shipping, it’s not simply a case of ‘paper is good, plastic is bad’; rather, it’s about the actual protection of the product, its weight and the route it will take. Packaging should serve its purpose, not just tell a green story.
09 · WHAT WE DO NOT CLAIM
Sportswear requires raw materials, energy, transport and packaging. Even manufacturing in Europe is not without its environmental impact, and even a high-quality product will eventually wear out.
We therefore do not describe our products in general terms as climate-neutral, fully sustainable or having an indefinite shelf life. Our approach is more specific: transparent decisions, direct partnerships, sensible materials, careful craftsmanship and a willingness to improve things.
For us, fairness is not some kind of moral trophy. It is the daily question of whether a decision is justifiable in relation to people, customers, the product and the company.
FAIRNESS IS NOT AN END IN ITSELF.
Supply chains, materials, partners and payment methods are constantly evolving. This page therefore outlines the current situation and will be updated as soon as any relevant details change.
